Sure thing. The ECU is the Engine Control Unit, basically the car's computer. A control unit is a more general term, but it refers to any module that controls a specific system in the car. In my case, it turned out to be a low voltage issue triggering the fault. You might want to have a workshop check it out. It'll be difficult without proper diagnostics.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop and, as suspected, it was indeed undervoltage. The repair cost was 240€. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

I have the same model, and I experienced something similar last year. Did you check the fault codes with an automotive diagnostics tool? It could be related to the ECU or some other control unit showing an active memory fault.
