Peugeot 1007 Handsfree Microphone Failure

My 2005 Peugeot 1007 diesel's hands-free microphone has stopped working. Telephony is impossible. There's an error stored, but I don't know if it's relevant. Could ambient noise be a factor? Has anyone had similar audio system problems? Is voice recognition troubleshooting even worth it?

Hey, I have a 1007 too. Sounds familiar... did you notice if your infotainment system was acting up? I had a similar issue last year, telephony went out, and it turned out to be related.

The infotainment system? I haven't noticed any malfunctions, but maybe it's subtle. Did your speech recognition also give you trouble? Any other symptoms I should look for?

Yep, exactly the same. The voice recognition went haywire first, then the whole telephony thing died. I tried fiddling with it, but I took it to a workshop. They said the infotainment system was defective. Cost me around 815€, but at least it's working now.

That sounds ominous, but thanks! Seems a workshop trip is inevitable. Your insight has been invaluable. Turns out the same happened to me - infotainment system defective, and had to be replaced.
