Peugeot 1007 heavy vibrating steering
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 1007 with a gasoline engine is experiencing heavy steering and vibrations, suggesting a potential power steering issue. The problem may be linked to a faulty steering angle sensor, especially if recent work on the steering column or suspension has occurred. Recalibrating or checking the sensor's coding at a workshop is recommended, as it can be sensitive and affect steering performance.

Thanks. No work on the steering column recently, and no traction control light issues. Why do you ask about work on the steering column?

Well, I had similar symptoms after some work on my suspension, and it turned out the steering angle sensor needed recalibrating. Apparently, it's quite sensitive. If it's not that, it could be wheel alignment but I'd get it checked out at a workshop. They'll be able to read the sensor data and see if it's coded properly.

I appreciate the insight. The steering angle sensor coding was indeed faulty, as you suspected. The repair cost 195€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds familiar. I've got a 1007 too, and those symptoms ring a bell. Have you had any work done on the steering column recently, or noticed any issues with the traction control light?
