Peugeot 1007 Oil Pressure Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot 1007 owner experienced an oil pressure warning light, suspecting it was due to contaminated oil from delayed maintenance. Contaminated oil can lose lubrication properties, increasing engine wear and risk of failure. The solution involved visiting a mechanic for an oil and filter change, which resolved the issue and turned off the warning light.

The last oil change was overdue. What risks does prolonged oil contamination pose to the engine's life and performance?

Exceeding the oil change interval can cause problems. Contaminated oil loses its lubrication, increasing friction and wear. This can lead to premature engine failure. See a mechanic for inspection and oil service. An oil and filter change should resolve it, but a pro can check for damage.

I saw a mechanic as recommended. The oil was contaminated, and the filter was clogged. An oil and filter change for 165€ fixed it. The light is off. Thanks

Oil pressure warnings on the 1007 can be tricky. Contaminated oil is likely, especially if the maintenance schedule is late. When was the last oil change and filter replacement? Any unusual engine noises or performance issues with the light?
