Peugeot 1007 poor starting high fuel consumption

Hi, I'm having a problem with my 2009 Peugeot 1007 diesel. It's got 216956 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed higher fuel consumption and the car starts poorly. I suspect the throttle valve might be defective. I was also wondering if the accelerator pedal module could also be faulty. Anyone experienced similar issues?

I had a similar issue with my 1007. Symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the throttle position sensor readings? Erratic readings there could definitely point to a problem with the throttle valve or even the throttle body itself. Is the engine idle also unstable?

Thanks for the quick response! Yes, the engine idle has been a bit rough lately, now that you mention it. Where exactly did you see those sensor readings? I'm trying to avoid replacing random parts, so any specifics would be greatly appreciated.

Given the unstable idle, my professional opinion is that the defective accelerator pedal module is the issue. Though further diagnosis is needed to confirm, it strongly suggests a visit to a trusted workshop for proper diagnostics and repair.

Took your advice and got it checked at a workshop. Turns out it was indeed the throttle valve! New one installed for 205€ and everything is running smoothly again. Thanks a bunch for the help!
