Peugeot 106 Communication Error
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot 106 is experiencing sporadic errors, with error lamps lighting up and several systems, particularly audio/navigation, failing. The scan tool identified a general communication error related to the control unit and BUS system. The suspected cause is a defective cable connection to the BUS system. A local workshop confirmed this diagnosis and repaired the faulty cable connection, resolving the issue.

The scan tool showed a general communication error related to the control unit and the BUS system. It seems to happen randomly, regardless of engine temperature or weather. Could you tell me more about how you resolved your problem and if the error codes were the same?

The error codes I retrieved pointed towards the BUS system as well. I didn't perform any repairs myself. Based on the symptoms and scan tool results, the workshop confirmed a defective cable connection to the control unit. I recommend you visit a qualified workshop to get this resolved. It sounds very similar to what I experienced.

A local workshop diagnosed a faulty cable connection to the control unit, which caused the errors I observed. Repair cost was around 155€. Your experience has greatly aided in resolving the issue.

I also own a Peugeot 106 and encountered similar issues not too long ago. My symptoms sound almost identical to what you're describing: erratic system failures and seemingly random warning lights. Did the scan tool provide any specific error codes? Do the failures occur more frequently under certain conditions, such as when the engine is cold or during damp weather?
