Peugeot 106 Cruise Control Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2002 Peugeot 106's cruise control failure was initially suspected to be caused by a faulty brake light switch. However, further investigation suggested checking the clock spring and throttle position sensor, common issues in similar cases. The problem was ultimately traced to a defective cable and plug connection, which was resolved at a garage.

Cheers! Where exactly is the clock spring located, and how can I check the throttle position sensor? I'm not super mechanically minded, so the more details the better. Is it something I can test with a multimeter, maybe?

Clock spring is in the steering column. Throttle position sensor, not really DIY friendly. Seems like cable or plug connection of the component defective. Best bet, take it to a workshop. Save yourself the headache.

Took your advice and went to a garage. Turned out you were spot on. Error was a defective cable; they fixed the plug connection of the component and cleared the error. Cost me 95€. Thanks a bunch for the steer!

Had similar cruise issues with my 106. Check the clock spring and throttle position sensor. Common faults.
