Peugeot 106 fuel flap issue

My 2001 Peugeot 106, gasoline engine, has a fuel flap issue. 89,755 km. The fuel filler flap won't release, and there's an error logged. Locking and unlocking does nothing, and it's affecting other functions. Suspect a defective linkage if there is one? Anyone seen this before?

I had something similar on my Peugeot 206. Fuel filler issues are a pain, aren't they? Was it a cable release or electric actuator on yours? Have you checked the release button or key fob? Maybe a fuse?

Good shout, thanks. It seems to be electrical rather than cable, but I haven't had a chance to dig in yet. When you say similar, was it the same symptoms - no release, error code, other functions impacted?

Yes, exactly the same symptoms. I'd wager it's the actuator itself. Best get it to a workshop; fiddling with electrics can be dicey. It's likely more complex than a simple fuse, and you don't want to make it worse.

Appreciate the insight. Took it to a garage. They diagnosed it as a faulty fuel flap actuator, and the repair came to 210€. Problem solved.
