Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the voltage across the battery terminals myself. I'm not that experienced with car electronics. Is it something relatively easy to do, or should I leave it to a professional?

It's pretty straightforward with a multimeter, but if you're not comfortable, I'd definitely suggest taking it to a workshop. With my Astra, the problem got progressively worse until the car wouldn't start at all. Better to get it checked before it leaves you stranded somewhere.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I appreciate the insight. I took it to my mechanic, and it was indeed the generator that was defective, just like he said. The repair cost me 960€. Hopefully, this fixes everything!

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra a while back. Reduced power and flickering lights were the main symptoms. Did you check the voltage across the battery terminals while the engine is running? It should be around 14V. If it's significantly lower, then the charging system, including the generator, could be the culprit.
