Summary of the thread
The issue with the 2002 Peugeot 106 involves a malfunctioning headlight range control, resulting in an error and a warning light, with low beams misaligned. Thanks for the tip! Servomotors, huh? I hadn't thought of that. Where exactly are they located, and is there a way to test them without specialized equipment? Also, are those things usually easy to replace, or am I looking at a major headache?

They're usually attached directly to the back of the headlight assembly. Unfortunately, testing them without proper tools can be tricky. You could try visually inspecting the electrical connectors for corrosion or damage, but beyond that, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. I ended up having to do that with my Astra, and it saved me a lot of grief.

Yeah, I think you're right. I was hoping it would be a simple fix, but messing with the headlights is probably not a good idea for me. Guess I'll bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. Thanks for the help and sharing your experience! They quoted me 1040€ to replace the servomotor. Ouch!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, although the exact symptoms were slightly different. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty sensor that controlled the headlight leveling. Have you checked the servomotors in the headlights themselves? They are responsible for the up and down movement, maybe one of them is defective. A defective servomotor can cause the described issues.
