Peugeot 106 Immobilizer Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot 106 is experiencing starting issues, with the engine cranking but not starting or dying shortly after. The error code indicates an immobilizer problem, and the security light is flashing. The issue is likely related to key programming. The suggested solution is to have the key reprogrammed at a workshop, which resolved the problem.

It is! The security light is blinking like it's trying to send a Morse code message. What did that mean for your Clio? Was it a major headache to fix?

Yep, blinking security light confirmed my suspicions. In my case, it was the immobilizer acting up. Best bet is to get it checked at a workshop; they can reprogram the key or diagnose the immobilizer itself.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on! The key needed to be reprogrammed. Cost me 45€, and now it's running perfectly. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Renault Clio. Is the security light flashing like crazy when you try to start it?
