Peugeot 106 Mirror Heating Fault

Mirror heating defective on my 2001 Peugeot 106 electric. Mileage is 91372 km. Fuses are fine, but there's an error stored. Could it be the temperature control, vehicle safety, or car's electronics? Suspect electrical fault in cable or plug connection. Anyone else seen this?

I had a similar issue with my 106, though mine is older. Mirror heating just stopped. Did you check the wiring harness where it enters the door? Common spot for breaks or corrosion. Also, have you tested the mirror heating element itself to see if it's getting power? A multimeter would help. Let me know what you find!

Thanks for the quick reply! Can you elaborate on accessing the wiring harness? Also, what voltage should I expect at the heating element if it's working? Don't want to cause further damage.

Accessing the wiring harness is fiddly. Pry off the interior door panel carefully. Screws are usually behind the door handle and armrest, then the panel pops off with clips. Be gentle! Voltage should be around 12V when the mirror heating is on. If you're not comfortable with electrics, take it to a workshop. I did that to avoid messing things up. The repair cost me 95€.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll take it to a local workshop. 95€ seems reasonable. It was a bad plug connection. Now it works!
