Peugeot 106 Running Rich

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2003 Peugeot 106 (gasoline engine). It seems to be running excessively rich. I've noticed reduced power, the check engine light is on, it's running rough, fuel consumption is up, and it's jerking when I accelerate. I checked the spark plugs and air filter, but they look fine. Could this be a bad injector?

Rich mixture, check engine – injector likely. Lambda sensor could cause similar. Unplug it, see if anything changes.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I unplug the lambda sensor, what should I expect to change if that's the problem? Should the engine run smoother, or is there something else I should look for?

Smoother running. But with those symptoms, and mileage, injector is odds-on. Workshop time.

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be a defective fuel injector, just like you suspected. The workshop confirmed it and replaced it. The total cost was 515€. The car runs perfectly now.
