Peugeot 106 Steering Problems

Yeah, it does pull to the left a bit. Thought it was just the road! And to be honest, it kinda crept up on me. So, if it IS the sensor, is it a DIY job, or am I looking at a full steering column replacement?

Considering the alignment issue and the gradual onset of the symptoms, the steering angle sensor is a highly probable cause. While a DIY repair might seem tempting, be aware that these sensors often require recalibration or coding after replacement. Faulty coding of the steering angle sensor is known to cause these symptoms. Without the proper diagnostic tools and expertise, you might inadvertently cause further complications. I would recommend consulting a qualified technician for diagnosis and repair.

Cheers for the advice! Ended up taking it to a garage, and you were spot on. It was the steering angle sensor. New sensor and coding set me back 195€, but at least it's sorted now. Appreciate your help!

The symptoms you describe, increased steering effort and a vibrating steering wheel, could indeed indicate a problem with the steering system. Given the age of your Peugeot 106, it's plausible that the steering angle sensor is failing. Have you noticed any alignment problems recently, such as the car pulling to one side? Also, has the condition worsened gradually or appeared suddenly?
