Peugeot 106 system readiness error

Alright, petrolheads! I'm having a weird issue with my 2001 Peugeot 106 diesel. It’s got 172210 km on the clock. Basically, I'm getting an error stored in the error memory AND a message in the speedometer saying the system readiness check is incomplete. Could this be because I recently used an OBD2 scanner? Anyone seen this before? I'm kinda freaking out here!

Hey! I've got a 106 too – though a slightly older model. I had a similar problem after messing around with one of those cheapo OBD2 readers. Did the check engine light come on too? When you say 'incomplete,' does it give you any specific codes or just that general message?

Yeah, the check engine light is on now too! As for the code, it’s not giving me anything specific, just that the system readiness check is incomplete. So you reckon that's because of the OBD2 thingy messing with the computer?

Sounds very familiar. I'm no mechanic, but yeah, that’s exactly what happened to mine. Seems those cheap readers can sometimes scramble the system. To be honest, I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they did some kind of computer reset.

Thanks a bunch! It's reassuring to know I'm not alone! I took your advice and went to a local workshop, they did a computer reset and voilá - everything's fine. And the best thing? It was free of charge!
