Peugeot 106 throttle valve issue

Thanks for the reply! I haven't checked the air intake specifically, just visually inspected it – nothing obvious. Fuel efficiency seems a bit down, but hard to say for sure. Is there a way to test the air flow sensor without specialized equipment? Or should I be focusing solely on the throttle valve?

Testing the air flow sensor properly does usually require some diagnostic tools, unfortunately. Given the symptoms and the age of your 106, the accelerator pedal module or the electronics related to the throttle valve are definitely the prime suspects. It's frustrating, because pinpointing the exact faulty component without proper diagnostic equipment is tricky. Honestly, with those symptoms it is best to visit a workshop.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. I took it to the shop, and you were right – it was linked to the throttle valve electronics. Repair ended up costing 265€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like you're in limp mode. Reduced engine power and a check engine light pretty much confirm that. The throttle valve issue you suspect is a common culprit. Has the air intake been checked recently? A blockage there, or even problems with the air flow sensor, can trigger similar symptoms. Have you noticed any change in fuel efficiency too?
