Peugeot 107 Auto Transmission Issues

Hi, I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2007 Peugeot 107 diesel. It's only got 11341 km on the clock, but I'm getting some serious auto transmission issues. The check engine light and transmission indicator light are both on. The gearbox slips and shifts really uncleanly, and there are grinding noises when shifting gears. I scanned it and there's an error stored in the memory pointing towards the torque converter lock-up clutch. Has anyone experienced a similar converter failure with these symptoms? I'm fearing the worst - a defective automatic transmission converter.

Sounds familiar! I've got a 107 too, and had similar symptoms a while back - slipping, grinding noises, and all those warning lights. Though I didn't check the error codes myself. Was the converter fault the only error you found?

Yeah, the converter fault was the only code that came up. Did your car have the exact same symptoms before the issue became apparent? It's difficult to drive now and I'm trying to figure out how much longer I can put it off before getting it fixed.

Yep, pretty much the same problems. It started off subtly, but got worse pretty quickly. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop sooner rather than later. Continuing to drive it might just cause more damage. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a transmission specialist and you were spot on. Turns out the automatic transmission converter was defective, especially the lock-up clutch. Cost me 2120€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running smoothly again.
