Peugeot 107 Cylinder Pressure Fluctuation

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2011 Peugeot 107 diesel. It's got 187252 km on the clock. I've noticed a fluctuation in cylinder pressure, accompanied by higher fuel consumption and a noticeable reduction in engine power. The check engine light keeps popping on. I've checked the air filter, spark plugs (though it's a diesel), and made sure there are no obvious leaks, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Could this be a sign of something bigger, like a camshaft issue, worn piston rings, or a timing belt problem? Or perhaps something related to the turbocharger or fuel injectors? Any ideas?

I had similar symptoms on my 107. Cylinder pressure issues, loss of power, and the check engine light. Did you check the error codes? Could be a consequential error from something else going wrong.

Thanks for the quick reply! You mentioned a 'consequential error'. Could you elaborate on what that was in your case? It would really help me narrow down the possibilities before I start tearing things apart.

Sure. I didn't troubleshoot it myself, to be honest. After checking the basics, I took it to a trusted workshop and they quickly figured it out. Save yourself the headache and get it properly diagnosed.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Took it to a garage and they fixed it. Turns out the pressure fluctuation was a consequential error, just like you said. The repair itself didn't cost anything, as it was a knock-on effect from a previous repair! Thanks again!
