Peugeot 107 engine issues

I'm having issues with my 2013 Peugeot 107, gasoline engine. It's done 261870 km. The check engine light is on, fuel consumption is way up, it sometimes stalls when idling, and there's a puff of smoke when I accelerate. I'm pretty sure it's the mass air flow (LMM) meter. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had similar symptoms on my Peugeot some time ago. Is your air filter clean? A clogged filter can sometimes cause the mass airflow sensor to malfunction. It's worth checking before replacing the sensor. Does the car have any trouble starting?

Thanks for the tip! I did check the air filter, and it seemed okay, but maybe I should replace it just to be sure. Regarding starting, no, it starts fine, just runs rough sometimes and the fuel economy is terrible. Did replacing the mass airflow sensor fix it for you?

Yes, the new sensor did fix the engine stalling and smoke issues. Given that you've checked the air filter and the problem persists, the sensor is the most likely culprit. It could be worth getting a diagnostic check at a trusted workshop. It cost me around 365€.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I really appreciate it! I'll take it to a workshop as you suggested. Hopefully, a new mass airflow sensor will sort it out.
