Peugeot 107 Engine Won't Start Immobilizer Issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2009 Peugeot 107, gasoline engine. It's got about 61k km on the clock. Basically, the engine won't start! Sometimes it starts for like a second and then dies immediately. The security light is on. I scanned it and there's an error stored which I suspect is related to the immobilizer. I'm guessing it's a key programming issue. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Peugeot 107 myself, and I had similar issues with the immobilizer. Was also related to the car electronics. Does it happen every time you try to start it?

Yeah, pretty much every time. It's super frustrating! The remote start also doesn't work. When you had the issue, did the engine die immediately, or did it run for a second or two like mine?

Mine was cutting out almost instantly. Definitely sounds like an immobilizer issue related to key programming. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. They reprogrammed the key, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Cost me about 45€, which isn't too bad. Appreciate the help!
