Peugeot 107 Exhaust Treatment Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 107 with a gasoline engine is experiencing an exhaust treatment malfunction, indicated by a check engine light, rough engine running, an exhaust leak, and foul-smelling fumes. The issue may be related to the lambda sensor, which can cause these symptoms by affecting engine management. Replacing the faulty lambda sensor resolved the problem, restoring smooth engine operation.

Lambda sensors, interesting. I haven't checked them yet. Where are they located, and is it a difficult job? Could a defective lambda sensor really cause all these symptoms, including the exhaust leak?

Yep, a dodgy lambda sensor can cause havoc. As for the exhaust leak, it might be unrelated, or the bad readings could be messing with the engine management and causing extra pressure somewhere. Honestly, with those symptoms, especially the exhaust leak, I'd get it checked out by a workshop. Could save you a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to a local garage. Turns out it was indeed the lambda sensor. They replaced it, and the total bill was 375€. Running smoothly now!

Sounds familiar... I have a Peugeot 107 myself. Had something similar a while back. Rough running and that light. Did you check your lambda sensors? Or even the EGR valve? Is the leak before or after the cat?
