Peugeot 107 Gearbox Slipping

I have the same Peugeot model. I had similar gearbox issues – gears not catching right, especially between 2nd and 3rd. Did you check the transfer case oil? Low or degraded gear oil can cause this.

Thanks! The oil looks dark, almost black, with tiny metallic particles. Definitely doesn't look healthy. Did your oil show similar wear? Did you replace the transfer case, or was an oil change enough?

Dark oil with metallic particles points to mechanical wear. My oil wasn't as bad, but still discolored. An oil change only helped briefly; the slipping returned. I had to take it to a workshop, and they confirmed damaged gears inside the transfer case.

Thanks so much for sharing! Sounds like I'm headed the same way. I've booked it in with a mechanic. They confirmed defective gears and quoted 330€ for the repair. I'll post when it's sorted. Your input was invaluable!
