Peugeot 107 Key Fob Issue

I've got a 2008 Peugeot 107 diesel and it's throwing a wobbly. The key battery low warning keeps popping up. Keyless access is totally dead, and there's an error logged. Unlocking and locking the car is a pain. I'm guessing the key fob battery is kaput after 266358 km, but is there anything else I should be checking before tearing things apart?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my 107. Keyless entry stopped working, and the manual lock/unlock was intermittent. Have you tried the spare key? Does that work properly?

Cheers for the reply! Good shout about the spare key, I'll dig it out and give it a whirl. If the spare works fine, does that pretty much confirm it's just a dead battery in the main key, or is there still a chance of it being something more sinister, like a dodgy receiver in the car itself?

If the spare works, it's almost certainly the battery in the original key. You could try replacing it yourself, but honestly, for the sake of peace of mind, a decent workshop will sort it quickly and ensure it's properly programmed to the car. It cost me 37€ back then.

You were spot on. Swapped the battery in the key fob and everything's back to normal. Remote central locking is working again. No more errors. Cost me 37€ at my local shop. Thanks for the help!
