Peugeot 107 low brake fluid

I'm writing to ask about my 2005 Peugeot 107 with a gasoline engine. The brake fluid level is consistently low, and I'm feeling a strange feedback from the brake pedal. The car has 169595 km on it. I've checked for leaks around the wheels, but haven't seen anything.

Low brake fluid and strange pedal feel often points to worn brake pads or shoes. As they wear down, more fluid is needed, dropping the level in the reservoir. Have you checked your brake pads recently?

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't inspected the brake pads myself. Could worn brake lines or the master cylinder be the cause?

Worn brake lines could lead to fluid loss, but you'd usually see a leak. The master cylinder is less likely unless you have other braking issues. Considering the age and mileage, and that you haven't checked the pads, I'd suggest having a workshop inspect the brakes. It's the most probable cause and important for safety.

I appreciate the advice. I had the brakes inspected at a workshop. As you suspected, the front brakes were worn, causing the low fluid level and strange feedback. I had them replaced. The total repair cost was 480€. Thanks again for your help.
