Peugeot 107 Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Peugeot 107 is experiencing engine overheating and delayed warm-up. The likely cause is identified as a defective map thermostat. It is suggested to check if the cooling fan runs constantly and to verify temperature sensor readings using an OBD2 scanner. Ultimately, a mechanic confirms the map thermostat is defective, leading to its replacement.

Thank you for your insights. Regarding the cooling fan, I will verify if it is running constantly. Where is the temperature sensor located, and how can I check its readings?

On my Corsa, the temp sensor was near the thermostat housing, but yours may differ. You can check its value by using an OBD2 scanner. That being said, based on your symptoms, I’d bet on the map thermostat; eventually, you need a mechanic to check it correctly. I would recommend that you take your car to the repair shop to be safe.

Understood. Thank you for sharing your experience. I took the car to the workshop and they have confirmed that the map thermostat was indeed defective. The final repair cost amounts to 350€. I appreciate your help.

That sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my 2016 Opel Corsa – overheating and slow warm-up. In my case, it was indeed the thermostat. Is your cooling fan running constantly, even when the engine is cold? It might also be worth checking the temperature sensor readings, but the thermostat housing itself is a common culprit.
