Peugeot 107 Solar Sensor Fault

I've got a 2006 Peugeot 107, diesel engine, and I'm getting a weird error. The error memory is storing a solar sensor fault, and the heating output is too low. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause this? Has anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2006 Peugeot 107 owner reported a solar sensor fault and low heating output. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. It was suggested to inspect the sensor's wiring for damage or corrosion, and the sensor is typically located on the dashboard near the windshield. The problem was resolved at a workshop, confirming the wiring issue as the cause.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

A solar sensor issue affecting heating? Seems odd, doesn't it? Is the air conditioning working properly? Have you checked the sensor's wiring for any obvious damage or corrosion?

Good point about the AC! I'll check that. Where exactly is the solar sensor located in the 107? Knowing that would help me inspect the wiring more closely.

Usually they are on top of the dashboard near the windshield. But honestly, with those symptoms, I'd recommend a visit to the workshop. A faulty sensor can mess with the climate control in unexpected ways. Save yourself the headache.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were right – it was the solar sensor's wiring. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Much appreciated!
