Yeah, it's the automatic tailgate. How would I go about checking the sensor calibration? Is it something I can do myself, or does it need special tools?

Alright, buckle up! I wouldn't advise you to mess around with the calibration, especially since it's an electrical sensor! If you are not an expert, you may mess up something else. Take it to a workshop or someone who's familiar with this kind of sensor fault. They'll diagnose it properly, trust me. Cost me around 95€, all in. Best money I ever spent!

Cheers. Appreciate the advice. Workshop it is! Sounds like I'm in for a similar bill. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Oh, I feel your pain! I had something very similar happen with my 107. It was driving me nuts! Is yours an automatic tailgate, by any chance? Because if it is, that hall sensor can be super sensitive. Have you tried checking the sensor calibration? Maybe it just needs a little tweak!
