I'm at 156323 km. You mentioned the converter – was it the lock-up clutch that was the problem? And what do you mean by 'expensive'? Ballpark figure?

Yep, sounds like the torque converter lock-up clutch is defective. If your symptoms are the same, it is very likely that this is the issue. I'd say get it checked by a professional. I got a quote from a workshop with 2120€ for the transmission repair to fix the converter fault. But that was just a quote, I didn't go through with the repair. So, yeah, expensive!

Thanks for the info! I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on – the automatic transmission converter was defective. Ended up costing me 2120€ to repair. At least it's running smoothly now.

Oh, that sounds rough! I had something kinda similar happen with my 108. The auto transmission was acting weird. What mileage are you at? Could be the converter. A converter is a type of fluid coupling which is used to transfer rotating power from an engine to a rotating driven load. In your case the automatic transmission. Was it expensive to fix?
