Peugeot 108 Automatic Transmission Problems

Experiencing alarming issues with my 2019 Peugeot 108 gasoline engine's automatic transmission. It's done 292567 km. The shifting is implausible, the transmission indicator light is constantly on, and it barely shifts as it should, mostly just staying in emergency mode. I've checked the vehicle for undervoltage, and that seems to be the most probable cause. Has anyone encountered similar transmission problems?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Peugeot 108 with a gasoline engine and automatic transmission is experiencing significant issues, including implausible shifting, a constantly illuminated transmission indicator light, and frequent activation of emergency mode. The problem is suspected to be related to undervoltage. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the worn-out transmission oil, which restored normal function.

I have a Peugeot 108 as well, and I had similar issues with the automatic transmission. The car acted erratically. Was the transmission slipping at all?

Yes, definitely some slipping! It's most noticeable when accelerating from a stop. Did you also have the emergency mode issue?

johannawilliams4

Yes, emergency mode too. Given all that, I would strongly recommend getting it checked out by a workshop as soon as possible.

Thanks for the insight! It seems like the transmission oil was completely worn out. Got it replaced for 240€ and everything is back to normal.
