Peugeot 108 Fuel Delivery Issue

My 2020 Peugeot 108, gasoline engine, is showing signs of fuel delivery problems. It struggles to start, sometimes stalls, and the check engine light is on. I've also noticed rough running, increased fuel consumption, and fuel system error codes. I suspect the fuel pump or its connections. Any ideas on how to diagnose this or common issues?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Peugeot 108 is experiencing fuel delivery issues, including starting difficulties, stalling, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and error codes. The initial suspicion was a faulty fuel pump or its connections. After checking the fuel filter and listening for unusual noises, a mechanic identified a bad electrical connection in the fuel pump circuit. Replacing the damaged connector resolved the issue, restoring normal fuel delivery.

Hey! Those symptoms definitely point towards fuel delivery issues. I had something similar happen on my older car, and it turned out to be a clogged fuel filter starving the pump. Have you checked the fuel filter? Also, any weird noises coming from the fuel tank area when you turn the key? Sometimes a failing pump will whine loudly before it completely gives up.

I checked the fuel filter and it seems fine. I haven't specifically listened for noises from the fuel tank. What kind of noises should I be listening for, and how would I best identify them?

Okay, since the fuel filter is good, and you haven't really listened for noises, I'd say pay close attention when you first turn the key to the 'on' position (before starting). A healthy fuel pump usually makes a brief buzzing sound as it primes the system. If you hear nothing, or a really strained whining sound, that pump is likely on its way out. Given all the symptoms, and the error codes, it might be best to get it checked professionally. You could try some DIY fixes, but messing with the fuel system can be risky.

Following your advice, a mechanic found a bad electrical connection in the fuel pump circuit. Replacing a damaged connector fixed the problem, restoring normal fuel delivery. Cost was 95€. Thanks for the help!
