Peugeot 108 gearbox slipping

Alright Peugeot heads, need your wisdom! My 2017 Peugeot 108, gasoline engine, is throwing a fit. 70k km on the clock. Paddle shifters are dead, gearbox is slipping like crazy, grinding noises that make my teeth itch, and the response time is slower than molasses. Oh, and it's gone into emergency mode, plus the error memory is full. Sounds like a TCU issue, right?

Sounds rough! Had a similar nightmare with my old Volvo V40 a few years back. Shifting problems galore. Emergency mode was my constant companion. Did you check the usual suspects like fluid levels and any obvious sensor issues before jumping to the TCU conclusion?

Good shout! Fluids are good, and I've scanned for obvious sensor faults – nothing screaming 'replace me'. Was your Volvo's problem definitely the TCU, or something else masquerading as one?

Yeah, after chasing shadows, it turned out the TCU was the culprit. Symptoms were eerily similar. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it to a workshop with the right diagnostic tools. They'll be able to pinpoint it for sure. Don't want to end up throwing parts at it blindly!

Spot on! Bit the bullet and took it in. Diagnosis: shagged TCU. Quoted 1000€ for the repair. Ouch! Thanks for confirming my suspicions; at least I knew what to expect. Appreciate the help!
