Peugeot 108 Manifold Pressure Sensor Issue

My 2018 Peugeot 108 with a gasoline engine is showing some odd behavior. The check engine light is on, and I'm experiencing reduced engine power, poor engine response, and higher fuel consumption. I suspect a vacuum leak affecting the manifold pressure sensor. Mileage is at 127540 km. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my 108. Have you checked the sensor readings? A large vacuum leak will throw off the MAP sensor and cause those issues. Is the idle speed stable, or is it hunting?

Readings are erratic. I suspect it's not just a bad sensor but the leakage itself. Idle is unstable, fluctuates quite a bit. Was it definitely the MAP sensor in your case, or something else causing the vacuum issue?

In my case, the root cause was indeed a cracked intake manifold gasket, leading to a significant vacuum leak, which then affected the MAP sensor readings. Replacing the gasket and the sensor solved it. Given your symptoms, I'd suggest a smoke test to pinpoint the leak before throwing parts at it, but it's likely a similar issue. Probably best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the confirmation. Turns out you were spot on. Workshop diagnosed a large vacuum leak due to faulty manifold pressure sensor. Replaced it; total cost 235€. Runs like new again.
