You're a star! The wiring! I'll have a look. When you say "dodgy connection", are you referring to the plug itself, or further along the wires? Did your temp gauge go super high as well? Really scared of blowing the head gasket!

Yeah, I meant the plug mainly, but follow the wires back a bit too, just in case. And yes, temp gauge was sky high, exactly the same symptoms. In the end, I just bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They said it was a faulty connection. Cost me 95€ to fix. Probably best to let them have a look before you properly wreck it!

Right, thanks! I checked the plug, and you were spot on! Everything seems to be impaired, so I'll take it to the workshop and let the professionals deal with it. I suspected it must be something like this. Thanks a bunch for the advice! You saved me a lot of worrying (and potentially a blown gasket!).

Whoa, overheating isn't good! I had a similar issue with my 108 a while back. Does the fan even kick in when the engine gets hot? Could be a dodgy connection. Have you checked the fan motor's wiring and plug? Give them a wiggle and see if anything happens. It's worth a shot before panicking!
