Peugeot 2008 automatic transmission issues
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Peugeot 2008 diesel with 253,221 km is experiencing issues with the check engine and transmission indicator lights, along with gearbox slipping and grinding noises. These symptoms suggest a potential problem with the torque converter lock-up clutch, possibly leading to automatic transmission failure. Diagnosis confirmed the issue as a faulty automatic transmission converter, which was subsequently replaced to resolve the problem.

Thanks for the reply! So, it was definitely the converter, eh? Did you have the same grinding noises as well? And how much did that end up costing you to fix?

Yes, the grinding noise was there too, mostly noticeable during shifts. It definitely sounds like the converter. Replacing it wasn't cheap. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop to be certain, but those symptoms are pointing to the same problem I had.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop and you were spot on, it was the automatic transmission converter. The final repair bill came to 2120€. Ouch! But at least it's fixed. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

That sounds rough. I also own a Peugeot 2008. Gearbox slipping and grinding sounds really bad. Did the error code point to anything specific? When mine had similar symptoms (slipping, unclean shifts) it turned out to be the auto transmission converter causing the issue.
