Peugeot 2008 automatic transmission issues

Hi, I'm having some serious issues with my 2013 Peugeot 2008 diesel. It's done 253221 km. Recently, the check engine light and the transmission indicator light have both come on. The gearbox feels like it's slipping and shifting is really unclean, almost grinding sometimes. I scanned it and there's an error stored in the memory. Could a defective torque converter lock-up clutch cause this? I'm fearing the worst, like a complete automatic transmission failure. Any ideas?

That sounds rough. I also own a Peugeot 2008. Gearbox slipping and grinding sounds really bad. Did the error code point to anything specific? When mine had similar symptoms (slipping, unclean shifts) it turned out to be the auto transmission converter causing the issue.

Yes, the grinding noise was there too, mostly noticeable during shifts. It definitely sounds like the converter. Replacing it wasn't cheap. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop to be certain, but those symptoms are pointing to the same problem I had.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop and you were spot on, it was the automatic transmission converter. The final repair bill came to 2120€. Ouch! But at least it's fixed. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
