Peugeot 2008 DPF Exhaust Pressure

The smoke seemed to appear somewhat gradually, but it has become more noticeable recently. Should I try forcing a DPF regeneration or would that just mask the underlying issue? Any unusual noises along with the other symptoms?

In my case, the gradual onset of smoke was a key indicator. Trying a forced DPF regeneration might provide temporary relief, but it's unlikely to resolve the root cause, especially with the low pressure reading. I didn't experience any unusual noises, so that might indicate a different issue. Given the symptoms and error code, I'd strongly advise consulting a qualified mechanic. Probably best to get it checked professionally.

Took your suggestion and brought it to the workshop. It turned out to be a defective exhaust back pressure sensor, just as suspected. The repair cost was around 245€, which was a relief. Appreciate you sharing your experience; it helped me approach the situation with a clearer understanding.

I also own a Peugeot 2008 diesel, and your symptoms sound very familiar. I had similar problems a while back - warning light, reduced power. The low DPF exhaust pressure is definitely not something to ignore. Did the smoke appear suddenly, or was it gradual?
