Peugeot 2008 Engine Misfires
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot 2008 with a gasoline engine and high mileage was experiencing rough running, a check engine light, jerking during acceleration, and reduced power, with diagnostic scans indicating combustion misfires. The initial concern was whether the issue could be related to the fuel pump. However, after further investigation and advice, it was determined that the problem was a defective fuel injector, which was confirmed by a workshop and subsequently repaired, resolving the issue.

Interesting. I was wondering about fuel-related issues. How did you pinpoint the injector as the culprit? Were there any other symptoms or tests you performed?

After checking spark plugs and coil packs, the mechanic ran a diagnostic test that specifically pointed to a cylinder misfire and an injector issue. It was pretty clear once they scoped it. If you're getting misfires, it's worth checking out, but I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop.

I took your advice and went to a workshop. They confirmed it was indeed a defective fuel injector. The repair cost me 515€, but the car is running smoothly again!

Rough engine running and misfires sound nasty. Reminds me of when my old Opel Corsa was acting up. Same symptoms - jerking, power loss. Turned out to be a defective fuel injector. It was like trying to run a marathon with a stone in your shoe. Have you looked into the injectors at all?
