Peugeot 2008 fuel volume regulator issue

My 2016 Peugeot 2008, diesel, now at 175295 km, is acting up. Check engine light's on, stalls at idle, and power's reduced. Suspect fuel volume regulator, maybe high pressure pump. Anyone seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Peugeot 2008 diesel with 175,295 km is experiencing issues such as a check engine light, stalling at idle, and reduced power. The suspected cause is a faulty fuel volume regulator, potentially linked to a high-pressure pump failure. It is suggested to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed and repaired, as high-pressure fuel systems can be complex. The garage confirmed the pump failure caused the regulator issue, costing 1510€ to fix.

Sounds rough. Check engine light plus stalling points to fuel delivery issues, likely what you're thinking. Fuel filter condition unknown? Could eliminate a simple fix.

Filter's new. Could a defective high pressure pump be the only reason for a defective fuel volume regulator?

Not only, but it's a common cause when the regulator goes on these. Hard to say without proper diagnostics, though. I’d take it in; high pressure fuel systems aren’t beginner-friendly.

You were right. Garage confirmed pump failure took out the regulator. Cost 1510€ to fix. Thanks.
