Thanks! How do I check the voltage at the sensor connector, and what voltage should I expect?

You'll need a multimeter to measure the voltage at the connector with the ignition on. You should see around 12V. If you're not comfortable, take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice; I took it to the shop. It was a defective cable connection. The repair cost 95€. Now the check engine light is off and the fuel consumption is back to normal!
