Peugeot 2008 power windows not working

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2013 Peugeot 2008 diesel. The power windows suddenly stopped working after I replaced the car battery. Now, none of the windows will operate, and I'm getting an error stored in the system's memory. I suspect it's something to do with the window regulator needing to be re-initialized, but I'm not sure how to do it. Any thoughts?

I had a similar issue with my Peugeot 2008 after some electrical work. It sounds like the window regulators lost their settings. Have you tried checking the window switch itself? Sometimes a faulty switch can prevent the initialization process from completing. If the switch is working correctly, the motor might not respond. Also, did you make sure that the battery was fully charged before the replacement? A low battery can cause issues with the car's electronics.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the window switches, and they seem okay. How can I confirm that the window motor isn't the problem? And yes, the new battery was fully charged before installation. Do you know of any specific procedure to re-initialize the window regulators on the 2008?

Unfortunately, there is not much to do for an amateur. In my case, the dealer had to re-initialize it via diagnostic software. I would advise you to visit a workshop. It is probably a quick job for a technician.

Okay, that's what I was afraid of. I'll take it to a workshop then. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. They did it in the workshop. It was indeed the window regulator. It cost me 290€.
