Peugeot 206 clutch pedal switch issue
Summary of the thread
The issue with the 2011 Peugeot 206 involves a suspected faulty clutch pedal switch, leading to error codes, non-functional gear selection display, cruise control failure, and occasional starting problems. The problem may stem from either the switch itself or the wiring harness, even if the cable appears intact. Suggested solutions include checking for voltage at the switch when the pedal is pressed and considering professional diagnosis and repair if the issue persists.

Voltage at the switch when pressed, got it. So even if the cable looks okay, it could still be the culprit? What exactly did you replace on your Astra to fix it?

Yep, the cable can look perfect but have a break internally causing an open circuit or high resistance, you need to measure it. I replaced the switch first as it was cheap and easy, but that didn't fully resolve it. Ended up finding a corroded section of the wiring harness near the connector. You'll probably save yourself some grief by taking it to a shop to have them diagnose the circuit, could save you a load of time. Cost me about 80€ all in for the wiring repair on my Astra at a local garage.

Thanks. I'll check the voltage. If that's not it I'll take it in. Workshop confirmed it, faulty switch and quoted 95€. Thanks again for your help.

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my old Vauxhall Astra. Error codes, intermittent starting, the works. I'd put money on it being either the switch itself or the wiring harness leading to it. Check for voltage at the switch when the pedal is pressed. A multimeter is your friend here. The ECU relies on that signal to know when the clutch is engaged for starting, cruise, and gear indication on some models.
