Peugeot 206 Door Lock Failure

Hey, I'm having an issue with my 2014 Peugeot 206 diesel. The doors won't lock or unlock anymore, like something's died! The central locking is unresponsive, so I have to manually lock each door which is a pain. The car has 114087 km on it. I've checked the fuses and they all seem fine. Any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be some sort of electrical issue? I'm not really a car expert, so any help would be appreciated!

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you are having issues. I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 206. It turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection of the component. I would like to know, does the problem occur constantly, or does it sometimes work? Have you checked whether all the door sensors are properly connected? These sensors tell the car whether the doors are closed, and if one is faulty, it may affect the locking system.

Thanks for the quick reply! It's constant, it never works now. Where exactly are these door sensors located? Are they easy to get to and check? Also, when you say 'plug connection of the component', which component are you referring to specifically? I'm a bit clueless when it comes to these things!

I understand your concern. By "component" I mean the door lock module. The door sensors are usually integrated into the door lock mechanism itself. Accessing them often requires removing the door panel. Given that the problem is constant, and considering the potential complexity of diagnosing electrical issues, it would be advisable to consult a qualified workshop to avoid further complications. I think the defective cable or plug connection is likely the root cause.

Okay, thanks so much for the advice! I think you're right, I'll take it to a workshop. They said it was a faulty connection, like you guessed. Cost me 95€ to get it fixed. Cheers!
