Peugeot 206 Electrical Issues

I'm having electrical issues with my 2001 Peugeot 206 gasoline. Only 28239 km. It seems to be undervoltage. The car starts poorly, systems malfunction, lights flicker, and the battery seems weak when starting. Could the battery be heavily discharged or defective?

I had similar issues with my 206. Have you checked the voltage regulator? Sounds like your battery isn't getting properly charged, leading to a slow drain and electrical gremlins. Is the alternator functioning correctly?

When you had similar issues, were the symptoms as pronounced as mine? Were your lights affected, and was starting difficult? Also, where is the voltage regulator located in the 206?

Yes, the symptoms were quite similar. The lights were dim, especially at idle, and starting was a chore. I suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly test the alternator and charging system. It's difficult to diagnose accurately without the proper tools. Ignoring it can damage other components.

I took the car to a workshop, and the battery was heavily discharged and defective. They replaced it. The total repair cost was 290€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
