Peugeot 206 engine issues

I own a Peugeot 206, built in 2003, with a gasoline engine. I'm experiencing some engine issues. The check engine light is on, and the engine power is reduced. Diagnostics show an error stored in the memory, and the engine is running rough. Mileage is 12754 km. Could this be a faulty intake air temperature sensor?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my 206. Check engine light, rough running... It might well be the intake air temperature sensor. Did you check the temperature reading? Is it plausible?

The temperature reading does seem off. Could you elaborate on your experience? Was it definitely the air temperature sensor in your case?

Yes, the error code pointed to the temperature sensor, and the readings were erratic. Replacing it resolved all the issues. Considering your symptoms, I suggest you visit a workshop for a proper diagnosis. It's the most effective way to know it for sure.

Thank you for the insight. Based on your experience, I've had the sensor replaced. The final repair cost was 155€. The car runs smoothly now.
