Peugeot 206 Fault Code and Error Messages

I'm having a perplexing issue with my 2010 Peugeot 206 with a gasoline engine. I have a fault code that triggers an error stored in memory, an error message on the infotainment system, and a similar message on the speedometer display. My scan tool hasn't been conclusive. Any insights?

Sounds like a headache! Is the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated? Have you tried clearing the code with the diagnostic scanner to see if it reappears immediately? Could be a glitch, but those Peugeot electrics can be temperamental.

Yes, the malfunction indicator lamp is illuminated. I've cleared the code multiple times, but the error message always reappears. Are there any specific control module issues that commonly plague this model and engine type?

Right, if it keeps coming back, clearing the code isn't going to cut it. I've heard whispers about incorrect vehicle coding causing similar issues. It's beyond my scope. Sounds like workshop time!

I appreciate the advice. I consulted with a qualified technician, and the vehicle coding was indeed incorrect, as you suspected. The repair cost 360€, but the issue is now resolved. Thank you again for your assistance.
