Peugeot 206 Headlight Range Control Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Peugeot 206 is experiencing issues with its headlight range control, causing the low beams to aim incorrectly and triggering a warning light. The problem is identified as a defective servomotor, which is responsible for the auto-leveling of the headlights. The suggested solution is to have the servomotor replaced at a workshop, as it is not recommended as a DIY task.

Servomotor, huh? Where exactly is that, and is it a DIY job or am I looking at a garage visit? Seems that the light intensity is not great and sometimes the lights will point down.

Yeah, on my Volvo it was definitely the servomotor in the headlight. It's responsible for the auto-leveling. I'm no mechanic, and I wouldn't touch it myself, so I'd say take it to a workshop. Better safe than sorry with lighting!

Cheers! Workshop it is. Turns out you were spot on – defective servomotor. Cost a whopping 1040€ to sort, but at least I can see at night again!

Sounds familiar! Had similar trouble with my old Volvo V70. Is the beam adjustment completely off? Could be the servomotor. Is the light intensity too high/low?
