Peugeot 206 Headlight Range Control Issue

Alright Peugeot heads, I'm having a nightmare with my 2004 Peugeot 206 (gasoline engine). The headlight range control is going bonkers! I'm getting an error, the warning light's on, and the low beams are either pointing at the sky or the ground. Anyone else seen this?

Sounds familiar! Had similar trouble with my old Volvo V70. Is the beam adjustment completely off? Could be the servomotor. Is the light intensity too high/low?

Servomotor, huh? Where exactly is that, and is it a DIY job or am I looking at a garage visit? Seems that the light intensity is not great and sometimes the lights will point down.

Yeah, on my Volvo it was definitely the servomotor in the headlight. It's responsible for the auto-leveling. I'm no mechanic, and I wouldn't touch it myself, so I'd say take it to a workshop. Better safe than sorry with lighting!

Cheers! Workshop it is. Turns out you were spot on – defective servomotor. Cost a whopping 1040€ to sort, but at least I can see at night again!
