Thank you for your swift response. The coolant level appears to be within the acceptable range. Did your issue also involve a stored error code specifically related to the temperature sensor within the heat exchanger, as well as the simultaneous AC malfunction? Did you try calibrating the sensor before replacing it? I was wondering whether this is fixable via software.

Ah, if the coolant level is okay, then it does sound awfully similar to my experience. Yes, there was a specific error code for the temperature sensor on the heat exchanger, and the AC was definitely non-functional. I didn't explore calibration. I took it straight to a workshop, given the complexity and the AC involvement. They confirmed it was the sensor and sorted it out.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems a visit to a qualified workshop is indeed the most prudent course of action. I had the car diagnosed at the workshop and the mechanic mentioned the same error. They replaced the defective heat exchanger temperature sensor, which seems to have resolved all the issues. Repair costs came to 980€. Thank you again for your assistance. It was invaluable.

Interesting. I own a 206 diesel myself, and I recall facing something comparable some time ago. The error messages and AC refusing to kick in are familiar. It sounds suspiciously like the same sensor issue I had. Did you check for coolant leaks? If the system detects low coolant, it might shut down the AC to prevent engine damage. It's a long shot, but worth a look.
