Peugeot 206 MAP sensor issue

I have a 2014 Peugeot 206 with a gasoline engine that's giving me some headaches. The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it's lost power, especially when accelerating. Engine response is also poor, and fuel consumption seems to have increased. It has 193561 km on the clock. From what I've read, it might be a faulty manifold pressure sensor causing a large vacuum leak. Anyone experienced something similar?

Hey, I had similar issues with my 206, although a bit older than yours. Those symptoms sound a lot like a bad MAP sensor. I remember the car feeling sluggish and drinking fuel like crazy. Have you checked for any obvious leaks?

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly did you find the leak in your case? Was it definitely the manifold pressure sensor or could it be something else related to the intake manifold?

For me, it was definitely the manifold pressure sensor. I didn't find the leak myself, I took it to a workshop, they ran some tests and confirmed it right away. Saved me a lot of time. I suggest you do the same thing - a proper diagnostic will give you certainty.

Okay, thanks for the tip! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right: faulty MAP sensor due to a vacuum leak. Replaced the sensor and had the intake manifold checked - all good now. Total cost was 235€ Appreciate the help!
