Peugeot 206 Mirror Heating Failure

Evening. I'm having a bother with my 2007 Peugeot 206 diesel. The mirror heating has stopped working on both sides. Plugged it into the diagnostic and it's showing an error stored in the memory related to the mirror heaters. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable or connector somewhere. Anyone else had this issue?

Hello there! That's a bit odd, both mirrors failing at once. Just to be clear, when you say 'stopped working', do you mean they're not getting warm at all, even when the rear window demister is on? It might also be worth checking the fuse box, just in case it is something simple.

Thanks for the quick response! Yes, completely cold, no warmth whatsoever, even with the rear demister blasting. I did give the fuses a quick once-over, but I'll double-check them tomorrow more thoroughly. Is there a specific fuse I should be targeting?

Ah, I see. If the fuses are all good, and the error code is specific to the mirror heaters, it does sound like a wiring or connector issue, as you suspected. Given it's affecting both, it could be a common connector somewhere before the split to each mirror. Honestly, tracing automotive electrical issues can be a pain. If you aren't experienced with that sort of repair, it might be best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks, that confirms my thinking. I've had a quote from a local garage looks like around 95€ to get it sorted; they reckon it's a corroded connector block. Seems reasonable enough to save me the hassle of hunting around with a multimeter. Will get it booked in. Cheers for the help!
