Peugeot 206 Oxygen Sensor Issue

Hey, having trouble with my 2011 Peugeot 206 diesel. Check engine light comes on and there's an error stored. Fuel consumption is up too. I'm thinking it might be the O2 sensor, maybe a bad cable or plug. Anyone seen this before? It has about 249693 km on it.

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Peugeot 206 diesel is experiencing a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, suspected to be due to an oxygen sensor issue. The error code indicates a malfunction in the oxygen sensor circuit, affecting the air-fuel ratio. The suggested solution is to replace the oxygen sensor and check the connections, potentially resolving the problem efficiently.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had something similar with my 206 (can't remember the year). Check engine light and bad fuel efficiency. I didn't check the error codes myself like you, but was it pointing to anything specific besides 'O2 sensor'?

The error code says there's a malfunction in the oxygen sensor circuit. Also, the diagnostic report says the air-fuel ratio isn't right. Did your diagnostic info say the O2 sensor, or something else?

Yep, O2 sensor was the main suspect for me too. Honestly, I didn't mess with it myself. Just took it to a workshop and they sorted it. Might be the easiest way to go, save yourself some headaches.

Thanks. I'll think about taking it to a mechanic. Sounds like the fix was replacing the O2 sensor and fixing the connection, costing 95€.
