Peugeot 206 Turbo Issues

Having trouble with my 2010 Peugeot 206, gasoline engine, 191302 km. Check engine light, lost power, poor engine response, whistling when accelerating. Sometimes a loud hissing, and the engine has stalled idling. Fuel consumption increased. Suspect boost pressure actuator fault, maybe a defective electrical bypass valve. Anyone experienced similar turbo wastegate or turbocharger issues? Advice on checking for boost leaks or diagnosing the actuator valve?

Hey, I had something similar happen with my 206. Whistling and hissing sound familiar. Does it feel like the turbo just isn't kicking in like it should?

Yes, exactly! Feels like the turbocharger isn't working properly, especially at lower RPMs. Power delivery is very uneven. Was it the same boost pressure actuator fault for you too?

Yep, sounds like the same issue. Honestly, I'd get it checked by a workshop, those turbo systems can be tricky and you don't want to make it worse. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be a defective electrical bypass valve, just as I suspected. The repair cost me about 250€. At least now the Peugeot is running smoothly again.
